GOAL Scholarship Program Publishes Annual Report

GOAL has awarded $73.5 million in scholarships to deserving Georgia students

The Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program has published its most recent Annual Report, entitled "The GOAL Report." GOAL is the largest student scholarship organization operating under the state's Education Expense Credit law, providing Georgia families with access to better educational opportunities for their children. 

Since inception, GOAL has been a leader in implementing this important legislation through its ethical, transparent, and proven approach, as is apparent in the organization's 12-page Annual Report.

GOAL's latest Annual Report reveals that:

  • In 2014, GOAL obligated 94.81% of its revenues for scholarships.
  • In 2014, GOAL awarded 4,314 scholarships totaling $15.8 million.
  • In 2014, the average scholarship award amount was $3,664, and the average household income of scholarship recipient families was $26,738.
  • With the 2015-16 scholarship season underway, total GOAL scholarships awarded to date is $73.5 million, with another $27 million earmarked for providing additional scholarship awards for current and future academic years to parents who choose to send their children to qualified private pre-k-12 schools.
  • Close to 1,000 GOAL recipients have graduated from high school since inception of the program in 2008.
  • In 2015, contributions to GOAL totaled $17,370,094. 
  • Since inception, individual taxpayers have contributed 82% of all GOAL revenue, and corporations have contributed 18% of all GOAL revenue.
  • GOAL will continue to inform legislators about the positive impact this program is having in Georgia.
  • GOAL is governed by an independent Board of Directors, which consists of twelve members with vast experience in education, business, juvenile justice, law, and philanthropy.
  • GOAL is proud to work with 129 of Georgia’s best private schools, serving students in 73 cities throughout the State.
