Institute for Justice to Intervene in Georgia School Choice Litigation

The Institute for Justice will intervene in the lawsuit filed against Georgia’s tuition tax credit program, representing parents who have received scholarship assistance through the program.

One of these parents is Robin Lamp, who states, “I want to protect school choice. I want to protect education for children that the public school system just doesn’t work for. I want to make parents aware that you need to do what’s best for your child sometimes instead of going along with the flow.”

GOAL is confident that the Georgia Education Expense Credit law is constitutional and that this lawsuit will fail. In the meantime, GOAL continues to support any reasonable processes that the Georgia Department of Revenue may implement to ensure that student scholarship organizations are complying with the law, especially the constitutional safeguards contained in the law.
