New Study Touts Two Benefits of Universal School Choice

School choice benefits children, families, and communities. But, these benefits are likely larger under a system of universal school choice.

Universal school choice – where all taxpayer money devoted to k-12 education follows all children to the schools their families deem best--has two benefits that are not available under more limited school choice plans according to the new Friedman Foundation for Educational Choice study. First, universal school choice would allow the private education sector to expand – existing private schools can become larger and new private schools can be opened. Second, a plethora of innovative schools will be created that cater to the unique needs of various student populations.
