Public School Employment Has Outpaced Growth in Number of Students for Decades

A new study by Dr. Ben Scafidi uses data from the U.S. Department of Education and finds relatively large increases in public school employment over time. Compared to the increases in students, the increases in the number of administrators and other non-teaching personnel have been much greater than the increases in students.

Dr. Scafidi is the Director of Education Policy for GOAL and a professor of economics at Georgia College & State University.
