Video: Georgia Parents Motion to Dismiss Tax-Credit Program Lawsuit

The Institute for Justice will intervene in the lawsuit filed against Georgia’s tuition tax credit program, representing parents who have received scholarship assistance through the program.

A press conference was held in Atlanta this morning, announcing the motion to dismiss the lawsuit.  Excerpts from this morning’s press conference remarks can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZg6oyY_01o

GOAL is confident that the Georgia Education Expense Credit law is constitutional and that this lawsuit will fail.  In the meantime, GOAL continues to support any reasonable processes that the Georgia Department of Revenue may implement to ensure that student scholarship organizations are complying with the law, especially the constitutional safeguards contained in the law.
