GOAL announces BP-GOAL Scholars Fund

Atlanta – March 19, 2012 – Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program, Inc. (GOAL) is pleased to announce its first named corporate scholarship fund, made possible through our ground-breaking business partnership with BP.

GOAL will seek applications for BP-GOAL Scholarships primarily from areas in Georgia where BP and its subsidiary Castrol do business. Qualifying private schools in these geographic areas include GOAL Participating Schools and schools that are members of the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA) that are participating with another qualified student scholarship organization.

Kevin Russell, regional sales manager for BP Products North America, said, “As GOAL’s first named corporate partner, we look forward to helping hard-working students throughout the state realize their career goals. In particular, we want to encourage students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics so possibly someday they might even work for BP. This program is one of the many ways BP supports education in both the public and private sectors.”

All qualifying schools will be notified by GOAL on March 20, 2012. Find more information about the scholarship fund here.
